CHAMBERS, MICHAEL “HOSS” JOHNNY, age 67 of Forestdale, passed away Friday, January 22, 2021. He was born and raised in Birmingham, AL to Johnnie and Dorothy Chambers. Michael was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed working on cars, playing rook, fishing and Alabama football. Michael was the definition of a man’s man. He retired from Jefferson County Roads and Transportation and volunteered at Forestdale Fire Department and loved his community. Michael was loved by all who knew him and will be truly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Dorothy Chambers; his first wife, Debra Chambers; and sister Mitzie Drew. He is survived by his wife, Gweneth “Gigi” Chambers; his 5 loving children, Cortney Rogers (Brandon), Andrea Chambers, Marcus Chambers (Stephanie), Mary Beth Wooten and Brad Wooten; brother, Marlon Chambers (Cristi); and grandchildren, McKinley Rogers, Grayden Rogers and Marcus Chambers, Jr. His family will honor his life with visitation on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel from 5-7 PM. The service will be at the chapel on Friday, January 29, 2021 beginning at 2 PM. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
