Our Dad Michael "Pete" Kilgore, 72, a noble man who fiercely loved his family, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, May 17, 2018 while surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Edna Kilgore. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Joan Finch Kilgore; his children, Jennifer Kilgore Riggs (Lynn) ,William Kilgore, Matthew Kilgore (Meredith), Kristie Strickland (Richard), and Keshia Lewis (Steve); 13 grandchildren, David, Jenna, Kipp, Isaac, Will, Luke, Aubrey, Matthew, Taylor, Mason, Brad, Robyn, and Clayton; a great-granddaughter, Madelyn Parker; as well as his 3 precious dogs, Jack, Chelsea, and Woody.
He was a faithful servant of Riverchase Community Church, an active leader in his neighborhood association for 20 years, and a lifelong fan of the Crimson Tide. He retired from Simplex after 42 years of loyal service. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War in the Air Force. He had a wonderful life and will be missed by so many.

Gathering will be held Wednesday, May 23 at Ridout's Trussville Chapel from 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm with Celebration of Life service to follow at 2:30 pm. Private inurnment will take place at a later date at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama.
