He was born in Fairhope, Alabama on December 20, 1981, to Tammy Adams. While Michael was still young, he was able to live in several different states and abroad during the time his dad, Scott Emery, was serving in the military. They eventually ended up in Alabaster, Alabama. He played baseball and basketball in his youth and also for Thompson High School.
After graduating from Thompson High School in 2001, he attended Jefferson State and The University of Louisville. He spent several years coaching youth softball. He also enjoyed working with children at various after school programs during his time attending Jefferson state. For the past several years, Michael made his home in Kentucky and was the manager at 812 Pizza Company in Georgetown, Indiana.
Michael was a huge fan of all sports. However, he was an avid fan of the Louisville Cardinals. Known for having the biggest heart you could imagine, Michael was a loving father, son, grandson, brother and uncle. He loved his friends and his family with all he had. Michael will always be remembered for his courage during difficult times, and even though he took his life, we know, he is at rest (without pain) now. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Larry Emery; his grandfather, Wesley Strauley; his grandmother, Marie Strauley; and his uncle, Jerry Fulton.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Tammy (Guy) Adams; his father, Scott Emery; his daughter, Julieanna Strauley; his four sisters, Jennifer Emery; Whitney Emery; Kaleigh Adams; and Karen Strauley; his grandmother, Elizabeth (Darrell) McGlynn; his grandfather, Larry (Jane) Fulton; his grandmother, Bonnie Emery; along with two aunts, two uncles, two nieces, and several cousins.
