Millie Curington, age 93, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, March 2, 2020. She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Thomas Edgar "Ed" Curington. She was born on September 6, 1926 in Alexander City, AL., the daughter of Leldon and Grace Louise Freeman. Millie had a love for life and a kindness she shared with everyone she met. She and Ed, along with their many dear friends traveled the world and enjoyed great times for decades. Millie was a devoted member of Southminster Presbyterian Church for 25 years. She was a loving mother to Sharon McGee (Chandler) and Mike Curington and grandmother to Melissa Esparza (Mike), Megan Williamson (Bo), Courtney Turner, Max and Mary Todd Curington. She was blessed with nine great-grandchildren: Bella Grace, Lilly, Jack, Wyatt, Emma, Millie, Mady, Zach, and Samy. She is also survived by her brother William Freeman (Donna).
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Southminster Presbyterian Church located at 1124 Montgomery Highway, Vestavia, with a graveside service to follow at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Southminster Presbyterian Church. The family would like to give special thanks to Zelma Richardson and Bee Jae Johnson for their loving care of Millie.
