She resided in the Woodlawn and Huffman communities with her husband and daughter before joining her daughter’s family in Trussville. She was a member of the Woodlawn Methodist Church and later transferred her letters of membership to Huffman Methodist Church.
Elizabeth was employed in the pharmacy of Miller’s Department Store and later worked retail with Lovemans and Pizitz.
In her last years, Elizabeth lived under the loving care of the nurses, CNAs and other support staff of the Fair Haven Methodist Retirement Community in its Skilled Nursing facility. Elizabeth’s family prayerfully thanks these wonderful angels for taking her under their wings.
Mama Liz, as she was known to her granddaughter, loved gardening, music, dancing and reading, but her greatest joy in life was caring for her family. We who received that loving care and attention over these many years will hold her forever in our hearts.
A memorial service will be held for Elizabeth in The Gardens of the Trussville First United Methodist Church at 2:30 on Tuesday March 27, 2012. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America or a charity of your choosing.
