

Millie E. Brown (Peggy) of Tarrant, age 88, died October 27, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Brown, parents, mother, Vivia Benton; stepfather, C.Y. Benton, and father, H.M. Craven; brothers, Fred and Jerry Craven and sister, Jane C. Bridges and a son in her heart, Tom Craven. Survivors: Daughters Sharyn Cushen and Vicki Evans; brother, Wayne Benton; Grandchildren, Andrew Cushen and Alicia McKinney; Great grandchildren Scott Haynes, Ravyn McKinney, and Amandalae Watts; Great great grandchild Jade Watts; and beloved cousins, nieces and nephews and a host of friends that she loved dearly.
Peggy was a member of Central Baptist Church. She cherished the years she sang in the choir and served on various committees but the greatest of these was teaching for many years, with her beloved Tom as her partner in service, the Young Married Class. They were the very heart of her Christian service.
Peggy was employed by Carmen Jones Agency, Inc. for 35 years and eventually became a stockholder and Executive Secretary until the agency was sold. At the time of her death, she had retired from Nesbitt and Associates.
Funeral Arrangements were made at John-Ridout-Brown at Roebuck East Chapel, Trussville, Alabama. Viewing will be Wednesday, October 29th from 6:00-8:00 P.M. The funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, October 30th at 2:00pm. Graveside service will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
