Myrna Phelps

Myrna Loy Ustick, age 88 of Birmingham, AL passed away on July 23, 2025. She was born on February 3, 1937 to William and Mamie Ustick. She was a native of Birmingham. As a child she attended Birmingham Conservatory at Birmingham Southern College. She graduated from Woodlawn High school and then attended UAB for 2 years.

She married Arthur Lee Roy Phelps on March 20, 1958. Myrna was a life-long member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. She was a gifted pianist and devoted Christian. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

Myrna is survived by her children, Deborah Lynn Gorff and Randall Lee Phelps; her four grandchildren, Linda Fondren (Andy), Ashley Parlier, Marsha Degrado (Chris) and Lee Phelps; her ten great grandchildren, Willia, Eli, Lizzie, Lexie, Abbey, Mason, Skyler, Noah, Travis and Kaiden. She also leaves behind a host of extended family and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel in Trussville, AL on Thursday, July 24th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A graveside service for Myrna will be held on Friday, July 25th at Forrest Hill Cemetery in Birmingham, AL at 10:00 a.m.

Reverend Russ Goodwin of The Church at Brook Hills in Birmingham will preside over the services for Myrna.
