Neda was born on December 13th, 1939 in Birmingham, Alabama to parents Constantine Nicholaus and Rosalee Morros and siblings Nicholaus, Vincent, and Helen.
She lived a life dedicated to the hospitality and service of others. Neda began her career as a waitress early in life, later moving to the Hyatt Hotel. After the hotel’s closing, she became a waitress at the historic restaurant, The Bright Star, in Bessemer. For more than 35 years, Neda was known for her loyal service and love for her precious customers. Always the first to clear a table or recite The Bright Star pie menu, her commitment to and passion for her work was evident. She was deeply loved by her co-workers and long-time customers. Neda touched the lives of many people in the local community and was a treasured friend.
Neda’s love for The Lord was a cornerstone of her life. As a long-time member of Gardendale First Baptist Church, she was an active participant in the senior ministry and service opportunities. Her generous heart for both those nearby and across the world was apparent through her yearly donations to Operation Christmas Child, where she would send three boxes, each in honor of her three beloved “grandbabies.” She loved her country and was a loyal supporter of disabled veterans. Neda was defined by her care for others, even in her final days.
She was known for her fun, spunky, and lively personality. Always looking for the next opportunity to “shake a leg” or “do The Twist,” Neda was never too far from a dance floor. Her sincere smile and kind heart could warm any room. She recognized the value of a “good deed,” believed “can’t never could,” and adhered to the saying that “5 minutes makes all the difference in the world.” She loved Jesus, coffee, and The Alabama Crimson Tide.
Above all, Neda cherished her family dearly. She knew no greater earthly joy than her daughter and triplet grandchildren. She will have an everlasting impact on their lives.
Her death is preceded by her parents, siblings, and her son, Sonny
Neda is survived by her daughter, Karla Arthur Hudson, her grandchildren, Alec Jeffery Hudson (Emma) and Samuel Clayton Hudson (Jenna) and Hannah Grace Royalty (Kyle), and her great-grandchildren, Grace Royalty and Annie Hudson.
Neda will forever be remembered as a generous, loving, hardworking, intelligent, and strong woman. She touched the lives of her family, friends, co-workers, church members, and customers alike. Her legacy will be carried on by all who love her.
