Nell Landers DeRamus Lovelady entered into her heavenly home on August 31, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents Tyree and Alberta Landers and all eight of her siblings as well as her husbands Tommie Harrison DeRamus and Buford Lee Lovelady. She is survived by her son Tommy (Susan) DeRamus, her daughter Susan (Glenn) Preston; grandchildren Andrew (Caitlyn) Preston, Joshua (Alissa) Preston, Elisabeth (Grier) Rogers, Sam Preston, Gabriel Preston and Emma Preston; and great-grandchildren Asher, Noah and Eli Preston and Beckham Preston; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends who loved her dearly.
Nell was a lifelong follower of Jesus Christ, having accepted Him as her savior as a 13 year old in Maplesville, Alabama. She was a longtime member of Wilkes Baptist Church and most recently Fairfield Highlands Baptist Church. She loved serving as a volunteer in ways that helped those in need, especially through the Food Pantry at Fairfield Highlands Baptist Church and as a proud member of the Volunteer Services at Princeton Baptist Medical Center.
The family would like to thank Dr. Gabrielle Rocque of the Kirklin Clinic at UAB Hospital and Amedisys Hospice for their loving care to Nell.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 5 at Johns Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel at 1:00pm with a funeral service at 2:00pm in the Chapel. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to Fairfield Highlands Baptist Church in Nell’s memory.
