KING, NELLIE JEAN RECTOR, age 90 of Birmingham, said her favorite Bible verse was Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 – To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. A time to be born (her birthday was August 30, 1927) and a time to die (June 1, 2018). She went to her heavenly home after peacefully resting and dreaming of her loved ones who went before her – her husband, Ocie Leon King; her parents, Banks Hyde & Floralea Rector; her sisters Flora Banks Johnson and Doris Rector; and her best friend, Carol Woods Nicholas. Remaining here are her daughter, Prissy Daly (Jeff); son, Bill King (Ann); sister, Mary Joan Chaffin; grandkids: Heather Whidden (Jeremy), Holly Segars (Evan), Suzanne Hildebrand (Jake), Becky Williams (Michael), Amanda Bacon (Chris), Michael King (Lake), and Daniel King; great-grandkids: Selah, Emerson, and Naomi Whidden, Ethan and River Segars, Skyler Hildebrand, and Dalton and Olivia King; and nieces, Deanna and Susie. Nellie Jean grew up on a horse/cattle farm learning the ropes of good trading to later create her successful Jean King Estate & Moving Sales business of 45+ years. Working for prestigious County Administrators, law firms and families, she became one of the most respected, awarded and loved ladies in the business. With Carol by her side as her best friend and coworker with a beloved work team, beloved family, relatives and friends she collected tons of cherished memories. All who knew her would say a few of her blessed gifts are her loving kindness, generosity, and fun uplifting friendship. Showing compassion is a gift from God. Prissy and Bill thank the Compassus Staff for their loving care of “MeMe”. The family will greet family and friends on Monday June 4, 2018 from 1-2PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel with the life celebration beginnig at 2:05PM. Instead of giving flowers she would want you to spend time serving others.
