

Nellie Mae Songer passed away Thursday May 28th peacefully in her home at the age of 104. She was born February 27, 1922 in Birmingham, AL and lived her entire life near the area. Mrs. Songer attended Woodlawn High School and Auburn University. She was a stewardess for Delta Air Lines prior to WW II.
She is preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Jimmie Pike and her husband Gordon Songer.
She is survived by her daughter Linda Wanninger (Mike), her grandchildren: Michelle Green (Eric), Scott Wanninger and Allison Stabler (Thomas) as well as 7 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Songer was a long time member of Cahaba Springs Presbyterian Church. She loved the Lord, her family and her Auburn Tigers.
Visitation will be held at Cahaba Springs Presbyterian Church, 6110 Deerfoot Pkwy, Trussville, AL 35173, US, on June 2, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Celebration of Life at the same location on June 2, 2026, at 11:00 am.
A Committal Service will take place at Ridout's Forest Hill Cemetery, 431 60th St N, Birmingham, AL 35212, US.
