Noel B. McCann age 93 of Birmingham, AL passed away Monday, February 27, 2012. He was truly a member of the greatest generation. He served during WWII in the Army Aircorp and worked as an ironworker for U.S. Steel for 43 years. He loved square dancing and fishing. Mr. McCann was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Poe McCann and granddaughter, Paige Mulvehill. He is survived by his daughter, Linda M. Crane (Gary); son, Noel B. “Rusty” McCann (Lynn); brothers Jack McCann, Jimmy Walker; sisters, Ann Emerson and Marilyn Nicholson; grandchildren, Christopher S. Hornsby (Christina), Lauren M. Daniel (Ryan P.), Todd McCann (Emily), Ryan McCann (Katie T.); great grandchildren, Dylan Mulvehill, Drew Elizabeth Daniel, Kendall Grayson McCann, Mary Katherine McCann, Emma McCann, Reese Daniel, Molly McCann; and many nieces and nephews, He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel at 11:00 am with visitation beginning at 10:00 am.
