

Ocie McRoy Cook, Jr. born Sept. 6, 1931 in Baileyton, Alabama, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016 at his Hoover home with family at his side. The Cook family, prominent in the Alabama Trucking Industry, built Eagle Motor Lines, Inc., founded by Ocie Cook Sr., into a very successful national trucking company. Ocie spent the majority of his life in the trucking industry as well as becoming a licensed real estate agent. He served as an Officer in the Alabama Trucking Assn, Birmingham Transportation Club and the Birmingham Motor Truck Club. He was an early member of Hoover Athletic Assn. Little League serving as VP for 3 years and President for 4 years. Mr. Cook was preceded in death by his first wife Deanna Pounds Cook, father Ocie McRoy Cook, Sr., mother Pearl Herring Cook, sister Iona Pitts and brother John W. “Doug” Cook. He is survived by his loving wife Brandi Cook, children, Ocie McRoy Cook III, Vikki Denise Cook-Wells (Ricky), Cynthia Diane Cook, step-daughter Kim Clements (Larry), grandchildren, Ocie McRoy Cook IV (Rachel), Taylor Heath Cook (Emily), step-granddaughter Casey Baker, great-granddaughters Audrey Jane Cook, Lynnie Dae Cook and great-grandson Baker Armstrong. Sisters Mary Ellen Oaks (Harold), Carolyn McConnell (Glenn) and Carol Thompson as well as many nieces, nephews.
