OBITUARY
Paige Golden
February 28, 1970 – April 3, 2021
Helen Paige Golden, 51, returned Home to regain her wings from our Lord on Saturday April 3, 2021. She was born on February 28, 1970 in Birmingham, Alabama. She is survived by her husband John Andrew Golden of Chelsea, Alabama; her daughters Hannah Caroline Glaze (24) (Colton Blackburn) of Olympia, WA, Olivia Eléna Glaze (21) of Birmingham, AL; John’s sons Jacob Andrew Golden (20) and Joshua Benton Golden (17) both of Hayden, AL, her parents Dr. Terry Sutton and Kay Sutton of Chelsea, Alabama, her brother Reginald Sutton (Stephanie), John’s parents Ellis Palmer Golden, Jr. JD and Martha Jane Golden, John’s sister Eva Michele Griffin (Jeff), John’s brother Matthew Kevin Golden (Stephanie), many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friends. Paige had many accomplishments in her life including Miss Samford University and high placements in several Miss Alabama pageants. She excelled in theater productions and television advertising and basically anything she set out to do. To hear Paige sing was a true life experience. She cherished as her highest accomplishment her girls and loved them with all her heart. She returned to college studies later in life finishing with a Masters of Education with honors from The University of Montevallo (Alabama) with specialty in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Paige was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. She worked for years during school studies and after graduation providing intense counseling services through several opportunities and most recently reached her stated goal of starting her own private practice. Paige was unassuming, non-judgmental, accepting, caring, a listener with a purpose not to provide an answer but just to listen. Countless persons from friends to clients to general acquaintances to strangers came to find friendship, peace and healing of mind from what John knew her to be, an Angel God gave to us for a moment. Her talents, beauty, stage presence, intelligence and ability to capture attention just by walking into a room were undeniable, but her private time at home was her place of solace and rest. Today we can come together in celebration of Paige being Home, at rest. When she took her last breath here, she took her next breath in heaven. Her Angel wings recovered to continue to do God’s work.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 12 pm at Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home. A celebration of life will follow at 2 pm. Services will be livestreamed on www.facebook.com/ridoutselmwood.

Paige and I graduated together from the University of Montevallo. She was a peer that I looked up to and truly admired. Her laugh was contagious. She was so welcoming and easy to talk to, I will miss catching up with her and our fellow cohort at dinners and group text. I am sending lots of love and positive thoughts to her family, she spoke of you all with so much pride and love. Until we meet again friend, Katie Bearden

To John and all Paige's family members,
I was truly stunned and saddened to learn of Paige's passing. She was one of my students when she attended the University of Montevallo and the description of her in your obituary fit her to a tee. She was such a bright light of hope within the counseling field and she loved her work. May the days ahead for you all be gentle, and your memories of her long. Sending supportive thoughts to all who knew her. Judith Harrington

I knew from the first second I met you that we were going to be friends but I also knew that you were going to light this world on fire. There was something so stunningly beautiful about you on the outside but even more so on the inside and you passed those amazing qualities on to your daughters! Our families first met when our kids were in Elementary School together. Hanna and our Son Connor were in the same class in 3rd grade it was a tough year for us as Connor had just been diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome and we were learning to navigate what that meant for the future. Paige was right by my side cheering us on and advocating for Connor and Her beautiful daughter Hanna followed right behind making sure Connor Always had a friend and a Laugh.( we secretly called her his guardian Angel) I just ran across the pictures of our Christmas Eve together, I think that was the year we almost burned the game room down as the kids were opening gifts so fast wrapping paper flew into a candle. Once we got the fire out , we laughed until we cried. That was one for the memory books! Your family touched our lives in ways that are hard to express and even though we have lost touch over the years you have not and will not be forgotten. Our sincerest thoughts and prayers are with your family and Hearts broken over a life taken way to soon.
Love,
The Hair Family, Sanford Florida

Heaven has gained one of the most precious angels to ever live. I have always cherished special memories. Running halls in the church as kids, Vacation Bible Schools, pool parties at our house, youth trips, going out to eat with Mom and Dad and Brother Terry and Mrs Kay, going to Miss Alabama pageants with Mom to support you. Always a special place in my heart and love for you Paige. Will always be praying for you Brother Terry and Mrs Kay as you always will be special and cherished to me.
With Love, Daryl

When I saw your name "Golden" I was like wow , I know she will be awesome"! And you were!! So kind to me when we met while working those weekend days at Grandview. Jokingly calling ourselves the "Golden Girls" or saying "Maybe she was born with it (Golden) or maybe its Maybelline!! LOL. Such a sweet spirit and such a joy to work with. You have touched many hearts, staff and patients alike. My last message from you saying that I was on your mind and that I was missed at the Grandview. You will be truly missed my Golden Girl friend. Rest well.
