Patricia K. Shackelford, 79, passed away. March 19, 2013. She was born in Meridian, MS. August 22, 1933. Preceded in death by her husband, M.E. Shackelford, parents, Glenn and Christine Keen, and daughter, Christy Wood. Patricia taught school at Our Lady of Sorrow for 14 years. Then onto politics, working for Senator Jeremiah Denton and finally Social Security Admin. Patricia is survived by 2 daughters, Courtney Slater (Mark), Katie Vann (Joe) and 1 son, Pat Shackelford (Nanette), 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Mrs. Shackelford was a two time cancer survivor. Though she will be missed, the memory to those that knew her will live in the lives she helped mold through her acts and teachings. Today Heaven received the best kindergarten teacher that ever lived. Semper Fi Mom. Visitation will be at Elmwood Chapel from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 23, 2013 with graveside services following at Elmwood Cemetery.
