Patrick Anthony Vacarella, 51, passed away on March 12, 2023. He was born on April 21, 1971 to Samuel Anthony Vacarella, III and Patricia Ann Vacarella in Birmingham, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his father. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his son, Sam Vacarella; mother Patricia Vacarella; sister, Andra Bollinger; and nephew, Chas Bollinger
All who knew Patrick, knew he lived life to the fullest. He never missed an opportunity to stop and just enjoy life. From a very young age, he developed a love of cars, especially fast cars. The excitement of racing those cars and tinkering with them attracted many like-minded friends and he established lifelong relationships with strong bonds that couldn’t be broken. He was that friend people wanted to be around, and everybody needed. He just had a way of making others feel needed and important. Patrick never met a stranger and he would give you the shirt off his back. He treated everyone with the utmost respect. He always put the needs of others in front of his own. And over the course of time, he became a pillar of the community with his unwavering commitment to the Mountain Scouts. We should all strive to be more like Patrick.
A visitation will be Saturday, March 25, 2023 from 1:30 pm until 2:30 pm in the Celebration Chapel at Elmwood Funeral Home. A celebration of Patrick’s life will follow at 2:30 pm.
