

Pat was the last of the Abercrombies who grew up on Parkway Drive in Trussville. She married Howard Pannell and they had six children. She lived in Trussville the remainder of her life. She was a housewife and had many talents and hobbies: Catering, sewing, square dancing, dancing, camping, and painting, to name a few. She also played a few musical instruments: piano, organ and accordion. She loved people, having her family around, and visiting with friends.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Beulah and Hosmer Abercrombie, her first husband, Thomas Howard Pannell, and her daughter, Abbie Pannell Speer.
She is survived by her husband, Edwin (Bill) Harding; her five remaining children, Rhonda Piper (Gary), Gayle P. Lopez (Bill), Thomas (Tom) H. Pannell, Jr., Julie Sadler, and Kenny Pannell (Linda); and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, many nieces and nephews; as well as her husband’s children, Nancy Kohl (Rob), Lynn Brantley (Mike), and David Harding, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Services will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at Ridout’s of Trussville, 1500 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL; Family visitation at 12:30; other relatives and friends visitation at 1:00; with service starting at 2:00. Burial to follow across the street at Jefferson Memorial Gardens Cemetery at approximately 2:30.
