Patsy Westerhouse, 80, of Birmingham passed away peacefully at her home on January 14, 2021. She was devoted to her family and her faith, and was a long-time member of Huffman Baptist Church, where she invested her time and energy into numerous ministries, including the WMU, choir, mission projects, childcare, and served on the church staff for 20 years. After retirement, she was employed at Shocco Springs for around 8 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Leon, with whom she partnered in sharing the Gospel through his lifetime ministry of music evangelism, and her parents, Homer Dennis Nabors and Clarice Hollis Nabors. She is survived by her sisters Sarah N. Wilson and Lyra N. Crapps, daughter Wendy, sons Wayne (Judy) and Warren (Robin), grandchildren Emily (Will), Kasey (Daniel), Jacob (Alex), Jesse, Samantha, Sadie, and Sawyer, great-grandchildren Brooke, Ella, and Lucy, and beloved caregivers Johnqunell Powell and Jhala Anderson.
A private graveside service will be held on Sunday, January 17th at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham with Pastor Larry Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Shocco Springs Baptist Conference Center, 1314 Shocco Springs Road, Talladega, AL 35160 or Huffman Baptist Church, 700 Huffman Road, Birmingham, AL 35215.
