Patti Rawlinson Holt went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 31, 2022. Patti was born on October 31, 1953 in Ensley, Alabama to Glenn and Elizabeth Rawlinson. Being a Halloween baby, her grandchildren would later come to affectionately call her Boo. Patti attended Ensley High School and went on to attend the University of Alabama where she quickly made her mark on the school’s history as one of Alabama’s favorite cheerleaders. She held many titles while attending Alabama such as rush chair for her sorority Alpha Chi Omega, Miss Alabama Maid of Cotton, Corolla Beauty, Outstanding Junior Woman, and International Sigma Chi Sweetheart to name a few. Many honors were held by Patti throughout her youth. To know her was to love her. The beauty that exuded on the outside streamed from the beauty that existed on the inside. She was a believer in Christ and lived a life of selfless service to all who knew her.
However, if you were to ask Patti she would tell you her greatest accomplishments in life were her 43 year marriage to her beloved husband, Dr. Bobby Holt, and raising 3 children: Jarod Holt (Liz), Tyler Holt (Becky), and Fleming Long (Chad). She found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren: Chandler Holt (Jarod and Liz), Jonathan and Maggie Holt (Tyler and Becky), Holt, Ellington, and Emerson Long (Chad and Fleming). She rarely missed a game, dance recital, or school program. The life lessons she instilled in her family will keep her memory alive for many years to come.
Patti is preceded in death by her parents and her grandson, Charlie Holt (Jarod and Liz). She is survived by her sisters: Glenda Peters (John) and Marla Flynn (Mike), her dear husband, her three loving children and her six adoring grandchildren.
A memorial celebration of Patti’s life will be held on Monday, February 7, 2022 at Church of the Highlands Grants Mill Chapel at 1:00 PM. Prior to the service, the family will receive family and friends from 12:00-1:00.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations be sent in Patti’s memory to Legacy of Hope or the Alzheimer’s Association. However, any floral donations should be sent to Church of the Highlands Grants Mill Chapel.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the medical staff and doctors at Grandview Medical Center, as well as a very special thank you to Hannah and Alex at Legacy of Hope.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.johnsridoutselmwoodchapel.com for the Holt family.
