PAUL LEWIS TUCKER, age 90, passed away April 13, 2021 at his home in Pinson after a prolonged illness. He was surrounded by family. Mr. Tucker was born February 27, 1931 in Springville, AL. He attended Springville High School where he met his wife, Betty Holcomb Tucker, the love of his life. Mr. and Mrs. Tucker were married in 1951 and spent 66 wonderful years together until her death in 2017. He briefly attended Jacksonville State University on a basketball scholarship and then served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. Mr. Tucker has four daughters, eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was a long-time member of Pinson First Baptist Church and retired from Lithograph Kraft Foods as a machinist and he was a member of the Pinson Lions Club. In retirement, Mr. Tucker enjoyed camping with family at Lake Guntersville, maintaining a fresh garden well into his eighties and working on old cars. Mr. Tucker enjoyed going to his grandchildren's sporting events. Mr. Tucker was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Tucker; parents, Howard and Annie Tucker; and brothers, Muarriam Tucker and Tommy Tucker. He is survived by his daughters, Judy Ledbetter (Ronnie), Carol Wadsworth (Cliff), Paula Johnson (Donnie) and Cheryl Palmore (Carl); grandchildren, Keith Wadsworth (Melisa), Wes Johnson (Leah), Brock Wadsworth (Christen), Mark Wadsworth (Shannon), Laura Gaddy (Jonathan), David Palmore, Shane Ledbetter, and Dana Fortenberry (Jason); 13 great-grandchildren and one on the way; sisters, Elizabeth Newman (Edwin) and Sherley Deweese; a sister-in-law, Johnnie Atchison; and numerous family and friends. Services for Mr. Tucker will be at 11:00 on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Ridout's Trussville Chapel with Bro. David Awtrey officiating. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday, April 19, 2021 at the funeral home from 10:00-11:00 AM.
