
Peggy Jean Halbert Logan passed away at her home on September 3rd, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. Peggy was born in Birmingham on January 23rd, 1949, to John and Marguerite Halbert, who preceded her in death. She has been married to Michael Wayne Logan for more than 43 years and has raised four beautiful girls. A graduate of Ramsay High school and an honors graduate at David Lipscomb College, Peggy began her career as a school teacher before going to work for the Social Security Administration for over 20 distinguished years. Peggy is survived by her loving husband Michael, her daughters and their husbands (Cayce and Jason Williams of Chattanooga, Caryn and Josh Courson of Hawaii, Brittney and Matthew Griffith of Nashville, and Lindsey and Brad Ross of Birmingham) and her grandchildren (her ‘sweet’ Logan, her ‘good boy’ Preston, and her twin grandbabies, Knox and Harper, whom she credits with ‘saving her life’). Also surviving is her stepmother Eloise J. Halbert of Birmingham, her brother John W. Halbert (Susan) and half-brother Scott A. Halbert (Karen). Peggy was known by all of her friends as being full of joy and love with the most precious, tender heart. Her smile could light up a room. She will be missed by all and was a pillar of strength to her family. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 5th, from 5-8 PM and Thursday, September 6th, from 9:30- 10:30 AM at Homewood Church of Christ on Oxmoor Rd in Birmingham and funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sept 6th at 11 AM at the same location.
