Peggy Stanton

Anna Margaret "Peggy" Shelby Stanton age 95 of Mt. Brook passed away Sunday, September 25, 2011. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dr. Roy F. Stanton, Jr.; her twin sister, Elizabeth Mitchell Shelby Eich; and brother, William Bruce Shelby. Mrs. Stanton was a graduate of the University of Tennessee and received her Master's Degree from the University of Chicago. She was a member of Canterbury United Methodist Church and several church related and community clubs. She was a loyal and loving wife and an exceptional mother. She was kind and caring to all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Mrs. Stanton is survived by her son Dr. Roy F. Stanton, III (Margaret); daughters, Betty Stanton Langley (Glen) and Patricia Stanton Nix (Johnny); grandchildren, Stanton Langley (Charlotte), Shelby Langley, Thomas Langley (Katie), John Nix, Dalton Nix, and Morgan Nix; great grandchildren, Stanton Langley, Jr., Will Langley, Anna Langley, and Thomas Langley, Jr.; and numerous other family members. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 11:00 am in the chapel at Canterbury United Methodist Church.
