Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Lois Katz and Alan Benson, and by his stepfather, Adolf Katz.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Becky Miller Benson; his sons, Matthew Benson and Brandon Benson (Dr. Wakeem Abraham); his sister, Jan Shevin; his brothers-in-law, Stewart Miller of Houston, Texas, and Chuck (Paula) Miller; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Randy loved his boys, his wife Becky, and his family deeply. He nurtured and grew his small business with incredible success.
He was a devoted fan of Alabama Crimson Tide football, enjoyed playing and watching both tennis and golf, particularly at Pine Tree Country Club, and was famously fond of a good bulk deal.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. CST at Elmwood Cemetery, Block 36, 600 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Birmingham, Alabama 35211.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Randy’s memory be made to the Cemetery Care Fund of the Rabbi Grafman Endowment Fund for Temple Emanu-El, or to a charity of your choice.
