Born November 2, 1930 in Kingston, Jamaica met his heavenly Father on October 14, 2014. He attended school in Mandeville, Jamaica and went to London Bible College in the United Kingdom. He furthered his education at Indiana University and received his doctorate. Morrie returned to Jamaica and pastored several churches. He moved back to the United States and used his doctorate degree in the corporate world. Morrie lived in Cleveland, Ohio, Atlanta, GA, then Birmingham, AL . There he became a Senior Vice President at Vulcan Materials Company. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed gardening, and reading classical literature and doctrinal theology. He loved watching football, especially his Alabama Crimson Tide. He was a natural born leader with a charismatic personality and was loved by all. He is preceded in death by his father, Samuel Arthur Lord and his mother, Annis Clark Lord. He is survived by; Barbara Lord Barnett, wife of many years and mother of his three children; daughter, Nancy Rhodes (Jan), daughter Shellie DeLoach (Don), son Jon Lord (Rebecca), 11 grandchildren and spouses and four great grandchildren. Services will be held at Mountain Brook Community Church; family will receive friends at 12 o’clock and service at 1 o’clock. Burial to follow at Cahaba Heights Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family ask donations be made to Mountain Brook Community Church Building Fund.
