Rebecca “Becky” Ann Warren Norton, age 56, was born in Panama City, Florida on November 25, 1969 to James Roy and Jeannie Scott Warren. Becky spent her early years in Panama City and graduated from Bay High School in 1987. Although life took her to different places throughout the years, she always considered Panama City home. The beaches of Panama City held a special place in her heart and were where she could relax and find peace. It was her happy place. Her children have chosen for her final resting place to be in Panama City, beside her father, mother, and firstborn son, Tyler.
Becky is survived by her three children, Caleb, Sarah, and Katie Norton; the father of her children, Scott Norton; her two brothers, Jamie and Mark (Susan) Warren; her sister, Leah (Bill) Ehrbar; her nieces, Crystal (David) Higgins, Chelsea Warren Green, Emily, Rebecca, and Lucy Ehrbar; her nephews, Alex and Adam Warren; and her great nieces, Kennedy Green and Alivia Higgins.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Tyler James Norton, and her parents, James Roy and Jeannie Scott Warren.
Becky loved people exactly as they were, making everyone around her feel welcomed and appreciated. She radiated kindness and selflessness. She loved her family with all of her being and was blessed with more friends than anyone could count.
Her faith was at the center of who she was and above all else, Becky loved Jesus. Her favorite Bible verse was Proverbs 3:5-6. It reads, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
Becky’s love, generosity, and unwavering faith left an imprint on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed, and her memory will live on through her children, family, friends, and all of those whose lives she touched.
Becky believed that family was not defined simply by blood or marriage, but by love. She leaves behind not only her children, siblings, nieces, and nephews, but also cherished loved ones who remained an important part of her life. Among them are Cherry Warren and Bear Green, both of whom Becky loved dearly and considered part of her family.
Those who wish to celebrate Becky’s life are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, August 19th from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Johns-Ridout’s Mortuary-Elmwood Chapel in Birmingham, Alabama.
There will be a following visitation at 11:00 a.m. and service at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 22nd at St. Andrew Baptist Church in Panama City, Florida.
