Wirt, Sue of Trussville passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014. Sue was a loving grandmother blessed with three beautiful grandchildren, Autumn, Aiden, and Griffin, two of which shared her fiery red hair, and all of which she loved dearly and was proud beyond measure of. Sue was an appreciator of God's wondrous creation, and spent her life enjoying nature in the beautiful house on a hill, looking out over a serene lake, that she and her husband built in 1972. Sue was a true Southern Belle, elegant, gracious, and mild-mannered, but extraordinarily strong in spirit. A graduate of Auburn University and receiving her Masters from UAB, Sue dedicated her professional career to enriching children's lives as a teacher at Hewitt Trussville Jr. High School for 28 years. As a true Alabamian she loved football and sports in general. Her Auburn Tigers were her true passion, and her Saturdays often were spent with family enjoying football, tennis and HGTV. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Wirt and her parents Mary and James Hill. She will be forever loved, and greatly missed by her son Matthew Wirt (Amiee), daughter Shelley Wirt, sister Judy Stover (Willard) and all of her beloved best friends and extended family. She will be buried at Forrest Crest Cemetery and there will be a joyous celebration of life at a later date. Sue and her husband Ken were dedicated supporters of the Big Oak Ranch for Boys and Girls. In lieu of flowers please send donations to their supported charity.
