Rex A. Skelton

Rex A. SKELTON, age 73, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 9, 2021. Rex was born December 13, 1947. Rex was a longtime resident of Leeds, AL. He was the adopted son of Clarence C. and Mary E. Skelton of Cahaba Heights, AL. Rex retired from O'Neal Steel after 33 years. He loved God, his family, Alabama football, bowling and in retirement he learned to love golf.

He was precede in death by his parents and daughter, Christy D. Walton. He leaves behind his wife of 37 years, Lou Ann Skelton, his daughters, Shannon Renae Skelton and Laura Michelle Smiley as well as his grandchildren, Wyatt Raymond Smiley, Alaina Grace Smiley, Ryan Grinstead and Matthew Walton.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any charity of choice.

A visitation for Rex will be held Friday, November 12, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel, 1500 Gadsden Highway, Birmingham, AL 35235. Following the visitation will be a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
