Rhonda Pardue Byrd, 58, of Alabaster, Alabama went to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 29, 2023. Rhonda was born in Birmingham, Alabama to Albert and Wynelle Pardue. She graduated from Vestavia Hills High School in 1982 and attended Southern Institute. Rhonda married Stephen Byrd and had two sons, Gregory Stanton and Michael Caleb. Rhonda and Stephen were happily married for 27 years. Rhonda was a 22 year employee of Trinity Child Development Center touching the lives of many families during her tenure. Rhonda participated in the music ministry at Shades Valley Presbyterian Church. She also served the church as an elder and youth leader. Rhonda also worked for years with the Boy Scouts. She was a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow, the Boy Scouts of America's National Honor Society. She was also awarded the Shelby District Award of Merit and the Silver Beaver, further recognizing her outstanding service to the scouting community.
Rhonda is survived by her husband, Stephen Byrd, beloved sons, Greg and Michael, mother, Wynelle Pardue, sisters, Elan Feagin (Mark) and Gina Gray (Jim), in-laws, Roy and Peggy Thompson and sister-in-law, Leanne Reimer (Ed) and nieces, Emily Williams, Piper Gray, Katy Spies and nephew, Brian Feagin. She is preceded in death by her father (Al Pardue).
Rhonda’s life will be celebrated at Trinity United Methodist Church on May 8th. Visitation will be held at 11:30 am - 1:00 pm with a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Trinity Child Development Center in Rhonda’s honor.
