Richard "Pete" F. Searcy
April 9, 1939 – December 1, 2018
SEARCY, Richard Francis (Pete), 79, of Shannon, AL, passed away December 1, 2018 after a long brave fight against multiple challenges, including Alzheimer’s Disease. He is survived by his son, Tim Searcy (Laura) of Hoover, AL, daughter Lili Glover (David) of Nashville, TN, grandchildren Katie Slagle (Thomas) of Alabaster, AL, Kristin Searcy of Hoover, AL, Clair Schager and Luke Schager, both of Nashville, TN, and his loving aunt, Gloria Jackson of Tuscaloosa, AL. He is predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Peggy, his parents, Raymond and Frances Searcy, brother William (Billy) Searcy, sisters, Ramona Searcy and Layne Cameron, and uncle, George Jackson. Born April 9, 1939 in Pensacola, FL, he proudly served for four years in the United States Air Force. He began a long career at Dudley C. Jackson, Inc. in 1968, retiring after 38 years as executive vice president in 2006. He was a long-time member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and served on the parish council for many years. He loved Alabama football, NASCAR, airplanes, storytelling, and the many personal relationships he built over his lifetime. He truly loved people and their stories and never ever met a stranger. He was dearly loved and will be forever missed. Services will be held on December 7, 2018, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 9:00am to 11:00am immediately followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM and graveside service at Elmwood Cemetery.
