Dear Sally and the Family,
We only just learned about Rob today. Our hearts are filled with sadness for such a tremendous loss. I have no words to truly convey how extremely difficult it must be to suffer such a loss. What I do know is the enormous compassion and perfect peace that the Lord will provide you all as you journey through this. He never fails and He holds each of you close so that you may rely on His strength to endure this sorrow. We will be praying that you feel His very presence and power as you seek His comfort. Hebrews 4:16 "Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." Please know how loved you all are. You have always been the sweetest of families. Always kind. Very special. Rob leaves behind a lovely treasure in each of you.
In His Love,
Fisher, Jamie, Canon, Collier, and Lauren Smith

It is hard to express the sadness I feel in knowing Robby has left us. He was a childhood playmate and a friend I lost touch with when I moved from Birmingham. I am glad that I met his darling wife years ago and my heart and prayers are with her and her children. And also with Robby’s beloved father. What a loss for all. Yet here is hope: I know Robby will rise in glory and I look forward to a friendship that will never end in a new heaven and earth. May the Lord be with you.

Rob was the best friend anyone could ever have. He was the smartest man in the room, in every room he ever was in, and he never let anyone else know. We had so very many great lunches together. We discussed topics ranging from sports to business and his perspective and great humor made the time fly by. I cherished our time of fellowship together, and I will never eat a bite of barbeque without thinking of him.

As I got to know and love Rob, one thing became very clear: the only thing he loved more than Sally and his children was our Lord and Savior. I so look forward to our next fellowship opportunity in His kingdom.

To lose a son to this broken world is at the top of the pain list for a father. My pain is made bearable by knowing that we have the gift of eternal life given by God through his son Jesus Christ. Rob is now with his Mom and in time, I will join them and other loved ones.

We have so many fabulous memories of our times together with Rob and Sally, before we were all married, before we had kids, and before life got in the way of constant meet-ups. What wonderful, lifelong friends you have been, even as our time spent together became more precious! Mike and I are secure in the knowledge that Rob is in a perfect place now, watching over us all until we meet again.

I remember Rob at sporting events cheering on his children and how he always had a kind word for everyone. He was a good man and will be missed by so many. Praying that the Father of All Comfort will give you all peace during this time.
