

The family of Robert Dee "Bob" Stallings will celebrate his life of eighty-two years at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 26,2022, at Briarwood Presbyterian Church. Visitation at the church will begin at 1:115P.M. Bob went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 21,2022, with family at his side.
One February 4,1940, Bob was born to Clarence Ray Stallings and Evie Winningham Stallings in Paris, Texas. In 1980, Bob left Texas for Alabama. There, he made a home with his wife, Kathy Crain Stallings. Bob and Kathy shared forty-nine years of marriage together. They were married on April 27,1973 in Houston, Texas.
Bob earned degrees from Texas Tech. Wichita State, and The University of Houston. He devoted his career to the U.S. space program, working as an aerospace engineer on projects from the Apollo moon missions, to the Spacelab and the space shuttle.
While in college, Bob's love of Texas Tech sports began. Bob was a Red Raider through and through, but when he arrived in Alabama his love for college sports expanded to the University of Alabama. Although
loyal to Tech, Bob loved finally supporting a national champion- ROLL TIDE!!! Bob's favorite sport was baseball, and he was a huge Astros fan.
Bob was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. His kind and giving spirit will be missed by many.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Ray Stallings and Evie Winningham Stallings, his sister, Barbara Jean Stallings, his brother-in-law George Bond, his brother-in-law, Bud Deason, and his granddaughter, Vivienne Letteau Stallings.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Crain Stallings; his son and daughter-in-law, Brendt Stallings and Tracey Letteau, and his grandchildren, Mason, Ramsay, Camille, and Graham, of Beverly Hills, California; his niece Debbie Seymore and nephew Norman Bond of Lubbock, Texas; and numerous, much loved grandnieces and grandnephews
A memorial service for Robert will be held Tuesday, July 26, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Briarwood Presbyterian Church, 2200 Briarwood Way, Birmingham, AL 35243.
