Roddie Rosine Vann Warren, known lovingly as Rosine, peacefully went to be with the Lord on December 20, 2025, at the age of 98. She was born in Ensley, Alabama and was a life long member of Ensley Baptist Church, a member of Eastern Star for over 50 years, and also participated in and contributed to the 100 years of the Vann’s Family Reunion. She enjoyed living at Lay Lake after retirement and Columbiana where she attended Columbiana First Baptist Church, before moving to Cedar Hill, Texas, where she quietly passed away. Rosine was preceded in death by her husband, John Warren, Sr., her parents Hobart and Sarah (Sallie) Vann, sisters, Ideena Bolen, Vedeera McDonald, Winona Segars and her brother, Rev. Hobart Vann.
Rosine retired from Parisian’s Department Store, after working in the Boys Department for over 45 years, during which time she was awarded top sales (over Million Dollar annual sales) recognition for six years. She had the enviable ability to remember every customer’s name (and their preferences) as well as their parents names. She would often pre-select clothing she knew they would like. She enjoyed traveling, attending gospel music concerts, reading, watching tv, and spending time with friends and family.
Our mother was blessed as a true Christian “Southern Lady,” and is survived by a son John Warren (Kathy), and daughter Caroline Creel; grandchildren, Scott Warren (Sarah), Lt. Col. Lee Warren (Jennifer), Janie Pallotta (Chris) and Rachel Hardy. Nine great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Caroline, MaryGrace, Jack, Emily, Olivia, Rebecca, Josh and Sydney.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Elmwood Chapel, 800 Dennison Ave SW, Birmingham, AL at 11:00am with visitation from 10:00am to 11:00am. Burial immediately following at Elmwood Cemetery.
