Roy Stegall

Roy Stegall, age 99, passed away Sunday May 1, 2022 at Grandview Hospital. Roy was born in Rockmart, Georgia, son of Ollie and Ivy Stegall. Roy had six siblings Clyde, Leon, Herschell, Johnny, Gladys,(Rogers) and Ruth (Vancil) and several nieces and nephews. Roy married Mattie Lou Ferguson in 1941 and they loved each other for 77 years. They resided in Crestwood for many years, until they moved to Galleria Woods Retirement Community in Hoover. They had one son Doug (Becky), 2 grandchildren Ryan and Chad (Stephanie and daughter Hannah). Roy was a US Army Veteran of World War II and was employed by Seaboard Railroad for 42 years as an Engineer. Roy and Lou were members of East Lake Methodist Church. The family will receive friends on Friday May 6, 2022 beginning at 1PM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel, 1500 Gadsden Hwy. The service will follow starting at 2PM with Ms. Sally Allocca officiating. Interment will be in Forest Crest Cemetery in Irondale, Al. In lieu of flowers please make a contribution to East Lake Methodist Church.
