Ruby Mae Stallcup Gates (Grandmother), age 82, of Trafford AL passed away and joined her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 24, 2024. The daughter of Irvin Sam and Clara (Pullin) Stallcup. She was born in Rockport, Texas and raised in the Calallen area of Corpus Christi, Texas. Ruby was a 1961 graduate of Calallen High School. She moved to the Birmingham, AL area in 2017 to live with her son. Ruby worked for the Corpus Christi Water Department for 20+ years. She enjoyed going to church and loved horses.
Ruby was preceded by her parents and brother (Mack Stallcup). She is survived by her sisters Berta Lee Boyle and Barbara Borden, four children Buford (Ernie) E. Gates, Jr. (Stephanie), Tisa Cole (Leslie) of Victoria, TX, Debrena Lightfoot of Corpus Christi, TX, and Lesha Bryant (Travis) of San Antonio, TX, ten grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
