

Ruby Faye Sumners Justice was born at home in Harpersville, Alabama, March 23, 1926. She was the sixth child of eight, the only girl, born to Charles Ernest Sumners and Evie Elizabeth Sumners. She grew up in Vincent, AL, and married her high school sweetheart, James T. Justice, before he left to fight in WWII in the Army Air Corps. In 1950, they moved to Crestline Park with their two children. She immediately joined McElwain Baptist Church where she served in many capacities. Besides teaching Sunday School, she held offices in WMU, worked in the nursery, Vacation Bible School and was on numerous committees. She taught a ladies Sunday School class for many decades and all of "her girls" were very dear to her. The Justice's started Justice Printing Company in 1962 where she worked until she was 80. Mrs. Justice was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, James T. Justice; her parents; five of her brothers, Lee Roy Sumners and his wife, Ruth; Walter Ishmael Sumners and his wife, Cora; John Paul Sumners and his wife, Estelle; and Charles Eugene Sumners, and a special nephew, Steve Sumners, who lived with her and her family as a little boy and again as a teenager. She is survived by a son, James Terry Justice, of Birmingham, a daughter, Judy Justice Richardson (David), of Huntsville, two brothers, James Clyde Sumners (Virginia) of Vincent, Robert Earl Sumners (Ann) of Rome, Georgia, a brother in law, Billy Joe Justice (Betty Jo) of Nashville, Tennessee, two sisters in law, Floyce Sumners of Vincent and Shirley Justice of Trinity, AL. She is also survived by four granddaughters, Kelly Richardson Hensley (Ryan) and Jordan Justice Richardson Morgan (Jonathon), both of Huntsville, Olivia Justice Boike (Josh) and Madelyn Justice, both of Birmingham, eight great grandchildren, Ethan, Evey, Holland and Huck Hensley, Mallory Murphy and Mabrey Morgan and Jude Boike, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. A burial will be held for family and close friends at Elmwood Cemetery at 11 am, June 4, 2013 and a celebration of Mrs. Justice's life and home going will be held at McElwain Baptist Church, 4448 Montevallo Road, Birmingham, AL, at 2:00 pm, June 4 with visitation starting at 1:00 pm. Services will be conducted by Dr. Ron Sumners and Reverend Jody Baker. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Mrs. Justice's memory to RENEW THEIR STRENGTH, c/o Dr. Ronald C.
