RUTH JOHNSTON, age 95 of Birmingham, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Johnston; children, John Robert Johnston, Kerry W. Johnston and Dennis Miles Johnston; mother Ada Thompson; 2 sisters; and 3 brothers. She is survived by her children, Richard D. Johnston (Linda), George Frank Johnston, Katherine Louise Johnston Hoagland (Patrick), Bridgett Ann Johnston Jones (Henry) and Jena Louise Johnston O'Bryant (Johnathan); daughters-in-law, Cathy Johnston and Laura Johnston; grandchildren, Sherry Lynn Slavin (Kevin), Terry Lee Johnston (Marcella), Gary Lane Johnston, Julie Johnston, Scott Allen Johnston (Alisha), Susan Johnston Churchwell (Randall), Heather Johnston, Amie Johnston Baker (Dustin), David Floyd (Jennifer), and Stephen Johnston (LaShaye); and many great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. She was a member of Pineview Baptist Church. Her family will celebrate her life with visitation on Monday, June 28, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. Her service will be at the chapel on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 beginning at 11:00 AM.
