He was ordained by the Baptist Church and served as a missionary for many years with the Chosen People ministries and Pacific Garden Ministries. He also served in the United States Navy as a Sub Tender, and graduated from Southeastern Bible college. He was also a father to three children by his first wife, after leaving the Navy.
He was born in Birmingham, Alabama and lived in Alabama until his heart for God sent him to Texas for seminary school. He imagined a world of peace for Israel, and the Jewish people. His mission was to tell the Jews about the Lord Jesus Christ, and made many friends and colleagues along the way. He would perform full Passover dinners and shared Jewish beliefs and customs with Christians, as well as sharing Christianity with Jews. It was sharing Christianity with the Jews that he truly thrived. Samuel served his God first, he served his family second, and Country third, but thru it all he loved the Lord first.
He loved spending time with his family and sharing his love for Jesus. In his free time, he enjoyed cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide, Chicago Cubs and White Sox and going to sporting events, but he most enjoyed anything and everything to do with Jesus his hero in life. He played high school football, 16in softball, racquetball, basketball, and loved teaching his children to play sports and read their bible. He loved animals and cared for a dog even into his elder years. His favorite pastime was spending hours in prayer, as well as studying and memorizing scripture.
He was a great man of God and a prayer warrior. He was loving, caring and full of compassion. He spent many moments serving others, when he was thanked, he always gave the honor to God. He would often volunteer his time to many different churches. He would always ask are you reading your bible, and spending time in prayer?
He was preceded in death by his father, Herman Miller; his mother, Rose Miller; his 1st wife, Kathleen Miller; his 2nd wife Edyth Miller; and his brother Leon Miller.
He is survived by his children: Samuel A. Miller, Rebekah Miller, and Joshua (Satoe) Miller as well as his grandchildren: Alyson Miller, Zephan Miller, and Sarah Miller; his brother, Nathan (Ann) Miller; sister, Carol (Uri) Tooch-Miller.
The family will receive friends at Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home on Friday, August 14, 2020 at 12 PM. A graveside service will follow at 2 PM at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL.
"מי ייתן את שמו הגדול ומוגדל בעולם אשר עתיד להיווצר מחדש, שם יחיה את המתים ויעלה אותם לחיי נצח; ולבנות מחדש את העיר ירושלים; ולהקים את מקדשו בקרבו; ועוקרים פולחן זר מהאדמה ומחזירים את פולחן שמים למקומו. יהי רצון שהקדוש ברוך הוא ימלוך בריבונותו ותפארתו, במהלך חייך יצלצל בימייך. "
Translation
“May His great name be kept magnified and sanctified in the world that is to be created anew, where He will revive the dead, and raise them up to eternal life; and rebuild the city of Jerusalem; and establish His Temple in its midst; and uproot alien worship from the earth and restore the worship of Heaven to its place. May the Holy One, blessed be He, reign in His sovereignty and glory, during your life ring your days.”
