

Sandra S. Stone, 84, of Ocala, FL, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025. Born in Notasulga, AL, on August 4, 1940, she grew up in Fairfield, AL, then spent the majority of her adult life in Homewood, AL where she built a lifetime of cherished memories.
Sandra was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Irene and Clifford Smith, and her dear sisters, Shirley Burnett, Jackie Kirkland, Catherine Rossa, Jean Barger, and Bessie Joyce Smith.
She is survived by her devoted husband and dance partner of 62 years, Jim Stone of Ocala, FL; two loving daughters Cindy Oliver (Gary McGee) of Ocala, FL, Susan McAnulty (Keith) of Dothan, AL; nine grandchildren Jessica Overfelt (Matt) of Ocala, FL, Sami Oliver of Ocala, FL, Andrew Oliver of Ocala, FL, Malia Lipira (Garett) of Ocala, FL, Delano Christie (Emily) of Ocala, FL, Nicholas McAnulty (Savannah) of Auburn, AL, Benjamin McAnulty of Huntsville, AL, Ryan McAnulty (Ashley) of Homewood, AL, Adam McAnulty (Kamrie) of Chattanooga, TN; and seven great-grandchildren Evelyn Overfelt, Wilson Overfelt, Marli Brown, Eleanor McAnulty, Cora McAnulty, Elind McAnulty, Caden McAnulty; all of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
Sandra had a passion for dancing, especially Bop, and was a proud member of the Magic City Boppers in Birmingham, AL. Whether on the dance floor or in the warmth of her home, she radiated love, joy, and an unwavering devotion to family and friends. Her laughter, kindness, and zest for life will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
A celebration of Sandra’s life will be held at Johns-Ridout’s Mortuary-Elmwood Chapel in Birmingham, AL on February 22, 2025 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her honor to Ocala United, a youth based ministry headed by her beloved granddaughter and grandson in law, Jessica and Matt Overfelt.
