

Sharon Defnall Rogers, 85, of Tarrant, Alabama, left this earth for her heavenly home on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. She was a member of Rock Methodist Church in Tarrant for most of her life and participated in MYF in her youth, UMW Circle and sang in the church choir for many decades.
She was born October 27, 1939 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Lonnie Moore Defnall and Fred Alton Defnall. She attended Tarrant High School where she was a majorette and graduated in 1957.
Sharon was a loving mother and grandmother, as well as a devoted daughter to her parents and a great friend to many. She was lovingly referred to as “Shani” by friends and family. Sharon had a heart for giving and never went without sending cards and letters to friends and family for every occasion. She was a living organ donor and donated one of her kidneys to her daughter in 1989.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Alton Defnall and Lonnie Moore Defnall.
She is survived by her daughter, Tracy Rogers, her grandchildren, Madison Fields McCord (Sam) and Joshua Fields. Also by Christian Ross, Catherine Ross and Caitlin Ross, whom she forever loved as her bonus grandchildren. She is also survived by many cousins and family members and dear friends.
We take comfort in knowing that she is with our Heavenly Father and reunited with her parents and other loved ones. We rejoice in knowing that we will see her again through our promise in Jesus.
A visitation for Sharon will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel, 1500 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel.
