Sherman D Forehand

Sherman D. Forehand, age 80, of Trussville went home to the Lord Monday, February 6, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents Rev. O. A. and Aleen Forehand. Mr. Forehand is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gloria Forehand; sons, Stan Forehand (Sherrie), Dave Forehand (Kristie), and Dale Forehand (Jena); grandchildren Bradford (Angela), Ally (Nathan), Chase, Emily, Cole (Kelsey) and Jorja; brothers and sisters, Pete Forehand, Nancy Grover, Dianne Caldwell, and Tim Forehand.

As an active member at the First Baptist Church of Trussville, he served as a Deacon (Emeritus), past chairman of Personnel committees, and two different Search committees. His most recent service – and probably his favorite – was serving in the preschool as a Sunday School teacher for toddlers. Both the children and their parents adored “Pops”.

Sherman loved playing golf, fishing, Alabama football, and restoring antique cars. God blessed his life and would want people to know he is with Jesus. This is the greatest blessing and comfort to his family. Sherman would want each of you reading this to be assured of your relationship with Jesus today.

Visitation will be Friday, February 10, 2017 at 11:00 AM at The First Baptist Church of Trussville with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM.
