Shirley Myers Bennett died peacefully on November 12, 2017 in Birmingham, AL at the age of 93. She was preceded in death by her husband Ed A.Bennett, Jr. of Birmingham, AL. She is survived by her sons, Ed A. Bennett, III of Birmingham, AL and James D. Bennett (Diane) of Moulton, AL, her grandson, Skyler C.Bennett (Cassandra) and her great grandson, Lucas Bennett of Jacksonville, FL. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home with a celebration of her life following at 2:00 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be gifted to the National Alzheimer's Foundation.
