Shirley was a loving mother. She was a graduate of John Carroll High School.
Shirley loved traveling the world, spending time at the beach, dancing, music, her menagerie of pets over the years, and feeding the deer. She had a warm spirit and a deep appreciation for life’s simple joys.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Christine Higgins, and her sisters, Sharon Haley and Rachel Higgins.
Shirley is survived by her son, Blair Foster, and his wife, Emily; her grandson, Kevin Anderson, and his wife Shelby. She is also survived by her nephews, Michael Laborde and Monica Laborde, James Laborde, and extended family in Louisiana and Florida.
A visitation for Shirley will be held on Wednesday, January 28, from 10:00–11:00 a.m. at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
