Shirley Maynord Harding

Shirley Maynord Harding of Birmingham passed away March 21, 2012. She was born on June 24, 1934 in Birmingham. She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 ½ years, Ray Hoyt Harding; mother, Sarah Maynord Springer; sister, Sarah Dundas Fowler; and grandson, Nathan Dale Futral. Left to cherish her memories are daughters, Katie Eady, Linda Futral Greer, Cynthia Ray (Keith) Smith; two granddaughters, Sarah Kaitlyn and Julianna Rose; brother, William David Maynord and family; nieces, Nan Fowler Givhan (Chip) and family; many friends throughout the years and wonderful neighbors. Mrs. Harding retired from Homewood Police Department. She loved being outdoors working in her yard, playing with her dog, Pepper, and spending quality time with her grandchildren. Anyone who knew Shirley, knew of her love for spending time at the lake or being on the beach. Watching Alabama football and Braves baseball were two of her favorite past times. Her family would like to extend utmost appreciation to Karen and all of Lake Martin Hospice and Goodwater Healthcare for the friendship and love that was given to her in the last years. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 11:00 am graveside in Elmwood Cemetery with visitation beginning at 10:00 am at Elmwood Chapel.
