

Shirley Faye Nabers Simpson, affectionately known as Nanny, 89, of Trussville, AL passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026. Shirley was a native of Trussville, AL. She was born on November 8,1936 to Paul and Lavora Nabers. She graduated from Hewitt Trussville High School in 1955. Shirley was a member of First Baptist Church of Trussville
Shirley was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family but especially enjoyed keeping her grandchildren. Over a span of 25 years, she has devoted her time and love to the care of her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother Paul Earl Nabers, Jr. She is survived by her husband, of 61 years, Jack Simpson; her loving children, Theresa Mays (David), Jack Darren Simpson (Dana) and Kristie Cornelius (Brian); six grandchildren, Joshua Mays (Britanny), and Mallori Mays, Zavry Simpson (Madison), Ivan Cornelius (Macy), Reagan Cornelius Misenhimer (Seth), and Canaan Cornelius; three great grandchildren, Jovie Gremmels and Liam Gremmels and Sawyer Simpson. She also leaves behind two brother, Aubrey Nabers (Joanne) and James Nabers (Jeannie); a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 21st at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held two hours prior, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. The Committal service will immediately follow the chapel service at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East in the Garden of Restoration. Brother James Long will preside over the services.
