Clifford was born in Plymouth, England to parents Florence Loveday and James Crocker Easton. His parents, along with his brothers Roy & Ivor and his sisters; Elsie, Ivy, Doris, Pearl, and Eileen all are greeting him now in a joyous reunion. Greeting him at his new home are also his wife Patricia Easton, his partner Elizabeth Downey, his daughters Deanna Simpson and Elaine Robertson. Granddads family spans America from east to west and many who still call England home – especially in towns and villages of Devon.
Clifford was a veteran of the British Royal Navy and served during World War Two and Korea. He was a member of the Episcopal Church and attended various churches in the Diocese of Alabama. Clifford remained active in his community and church throughout his life including many veterans’ organizations. Granddad will be missed by countless of those left to cherish his memory – there are many who will carry on because of his lessons to us – and we are all better to have been blessed by him being a part of our lives – if only for a brief time. We will meet again for a cup of tea – I am sure the kettle will be on when we arrive….
There will be a Visitation from 10 AM - 11 AM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel, Birmingham, Alabama followed by Service at 11 AM on Thursday, May 17. Interment at Forest Crest, Irondale immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Three Hots & A Cot www.cotsforvets.org or Fort Comfort Veterans Village www.veteran-village.org in memory and honor of “Granddad”.
