Miss Sue Evelyn Grimes passed away on January 1, 2017 at the age of 95 years. She lived her entire life in Birmingham, Alabama where her father was associated for many years with Hercules Powder Company. Miss Grimes lived in the Forest Park/Crestwood area of Birmingham and in later years made her home at St. Martin’s in the Pines. She was educated at Ward-Belmont College in Nashville, Tennessee. She was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. Miss Grimes is predeceased by her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. John J. Grimes, Sr., brother, John J. Grimes, Jr., and sister, Lucille G. Jones. She is survived by two nieces, Virginia G. Howe of Charlottesville, Virginia and Lalla R. Grimes of New York City, New York. A service of commitment and entombment will be held at Elmwood Cemetery Mausoleum on January 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.
