

PINKERTON, VERA SUE Pinkerton, Vera Sue Ussery age 100 passed away on July 3, 2011 after a lengthy illness. She was born in Fernbank, Alabama in Lamar County. She resided at Magnolia Ridge Care and Rehabilitation in Gardendale for many years following a stroke. She was a member of Wilson Chapel United Methodist Church, a member of the Taylor Sunday School Class and the Chancel Choir. She and her husband, Earnest, were Members of Norwood Methodist Church for many years and helped to organize the Young Adult Association of Methodist Churches. She was a dietician at North Roebuck School and retired from L.M. Smith School. She also served as a Girl Scout Leader. She loved sports, especially Alabama Football. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Lina Ussery, her brothers, Charlie, John Ussery, sisters Aubie, Reba Ussery; and her husband of 39 years Earnest Pinkerton and a son Ped Pinkerton. She is survived by her daughter Carolyn (John) Coon; granddaughter Martha Sue Coon Satterfield (Tom), grandson John Coon Jr. (Kristin); great grandchildren Anna Elise and John Thomas Satterfield and Mason Allen Coon. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She loved her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren so much and was so involved in their lives. Funeral service will be Wednesday July 6, 2011 at 6:00 P.M. at Ridout's Trussville Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 P.M. on Wednesday until service time. A graveside service will be held on Thursday July 7, 2011 at 12:30 P.M. at the Ebnezer Methodist Church Cemetery in Fernbank, Alabama with her nephew, Rev. Jerry Robbins officiating.
