Terry Mark Sokol, 74, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025, at Spain Rehab after a courageous battle with throat cancer. Born on June 5, 1951, to Margaret and Hyman Sokol, Terry was a unique and opinionated individual who left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.
Terry was the founder of Keepsake Cabinets, a bespoke cabinet company that served clients across the Southeast. He was married to Kathy Parcus and was an avid sports enthusiast who enjoyed playing baseball and basketball throughout his life.
Those who knew Terry describe him as one of the most memorable people they ever encountered—a great friend who could be equally endearing and irritating, but never boring. His absence leaves a profound quiet in the lives of those who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Hyman Sokol; his brother Ricky; his beloved aunts; and cousins whose company he treasured.
He is survived by many cousins and friends who loved him dearly.
Visitation will be held at Johns-Ridout's Elmwood at 11:00 AM, followed by a graveside service at Elmwood Cemetery at 12:30 PM, and a mercy meal at the home of Donna and Richard Smaha.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to VAX2STOPCANCER.org, a non-profit working to prevent cancer by expanding the use of the HPV vaccine through education, public awareness, and advocacy.
Terry will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
