Thelma Jane Parker, 80, passed away Tuesday July 12, 2022. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Juanita and Lewis Harper and her brother Robert Harper. Jane is survived by her husband of 63 years, George Allen Parker; daughters, Teresa Robbins (Brad), Marcia Howard (Mike), Shirley Brinkmeier (Michael), Amy Amaya (Marco); grandchildren, Shaymon Gosnell (Brian), Bridget Mathis, Megan MacLellan (Angus), Seth Cain (Mesha), Katelyn Howard, Heath Howard (Ali), Amelia Amaya; great-grandchildren, Emory, Parker, Childers, Levi and Thomas; brother, Frank Harper (Kitty); and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Jane spent many years helping in her husband’s law office, working in her church and helping to care for her family and friends. She was outgoing, full of life and known to share stories, advice and laughs with everyone she met. Jane loved to spend time with her family, especially snuggling each new baby “grand” or “great grand” as she called them. She enjoyed working with her flowers, fashion, cooking and caring for others. Her hidden talent was the hula or shimmy. She took on every day with strength and determination. Granny, as we called her, has left us wishing for a little more sugar, one more silly story, and a little more time together. We are so thankful she was ours. Her family will celebrate her life with visitation on Monday, July 18, 2022 from 1-2 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel with her service beginning at 2:00. There will be a private family burial at Alabama National Cemetery.
