Theoleen B. Hurst finally was able to go home peacefully at the age 101 to be with her husband of 71 years Edward N. Hurst Jr., Her Daughter Barbara Hurst Smith and her Grandson Matthew Smith. Mrs. Hurst is survived by her Grandson, Jon-Hurt Smith his wife Hope of Northeast Georgia and her Great Grandson Davis Hurt Smith and Meredith of Charleston, SC. Theoleen (Tina) was a member of the Riverchase United Methodist Church of Birmingham. She was a retiree of AmSouth Bank, formerly First National Bank of Birmingham. She was avid reader and writer along with being involved many social group from Gardening, Dancing, Supper Club and Canasta. A life well lived, cherished by young and old alike who had the privilege to know her. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 27, 2020 from 10:00 A.M to 11:00 A.M at Elmwood Chapel Funeral with a graveside service and burial following at 11:00 A. M. at Elmwood Cemetery. The Reverend Nancy Harper of Riverchase UMC will officiate.
